There is a magic element of grit and spontaneity that cannot be staged. This is the beauty of street photography.
Artificial lighting—a simple studio light, a flash even, almost exponentially diminishes the power of the aesthetic algorithm and alchemy that work to manifest the moment when one’s intuition beholds all the elements that bedazzle and congeal: ambiance and its light, human movement, industrial design, the orgy of contemporary color and curvature; and, perhaps most importantly, the drop-jaw awe, the naïve wonder and the magic emotions and gestures painted upon a picture with the expressions of bystanders in the background.
