Style Weekly: "the politics of fear and a growing racial divide still cripple Richmond [Virginia]." Mayor Douglas Wilder: "a cesspool of corruption and inefficiency." Ninth most dangerous city in the US. The state claims that "Virginia is for lovers" but the General Assembly passed a law "which some contend is the most anti-gay legislation in the country." (Style Weekly) And don't get me started on Henhicko County, Native American for "land of the hicks." Now at www.richmondsucks.com.

About Me
- Chris Martin
- "...the quintessential everyman, he's a little bit of everything that we're all striving for... mostly the search for the truth in our lives. From poignant notions of love to our own inescapable lascivious tendencies, from mundane to the outlandish, on that journey we face tough questions, but even tougher decisions. He'll take you on his journey and back, he won't promise you enlightenment (who can?), but you can at least be assured of a good time. Thanks..." - boyzco

I lived in wretchedmond for 1 year, before I moved to Fredericksburg to be closer to D.C., and away from hell.
Sorry folks, but the "west end," and an outdoor mall (ooo la la)does not make up for the dirty, dirty downtown, rude, uneducated (that goes for the "old money" too)whites and blacks alike.
I stopped an old white woman 7/11 clerk from being pummeled bloody at 3:30 am, on Parham road within my first 6 months of being there; and was told by a crusty old barber at 8:30 am on a nice suny Saturday, "Only five people have managed to pissed me off in the many years I've been doing this, and you're one of'em" all because I asked about 10 minutes into the haircut, to see the progress.
What a douchebag.
So, in essence, the natives suck, you're a "come here" even if you live there for 20 years, the city is ugly, it's ghetto, and the West End is very much a joke..um, if that's the best you can do to save your city's image, stay right where you are, I won't complain.
The only part of VA that doesn't bite, is NoVa, and I'd live there in a heartbeat.
Cleveland is much better, and bigger than dirty dirty Richmond; tha dirtee south.
