Style Weekly: "the politics of fear and a growing racial divide still cripple Richmond [Virginia]." Mayor Douglas Wilder: "a cesspool of corruption and inefficiency." Ninth most dangerous city in the US. The state claims that "Virginia is for lovers" but the General Assembly passed a law "which some contend is the most anti-gay legislation in the country." Good afternoon, Virginia Beach


Virginia Aquarium - meeting Crush

If you're visiting Virginia Beach you should really go check out their aquarium. They had several large tanks but the best part was their small touch tanks. My kids got to poke, hold and almost lick (The Son likes to taste everything) a lot of cool sea creatures.

It had mixed reviews with kids since it was so dark it kind of freaked some out. But under four is free so that was a nice surprise. My daughter enjoys the movie, Nemo, so meeting Crush (sea turtle from movie) was a huge treat for her. We were lucky and went first thing in the AM and when we left around lunch time there were easily 200+ people waiting in line.
